I believe I have figured how to post photos. Let me know if I can help or send them to me and I will post them.

Some 57 some 58

I see Jones, Newman, Ingram, Skeers and Cutter. Probably taken outside the Gym in 1957

Maybe Baby

As to the place where they served beer near the Vet’s I recall it was the Smoke Shack. If that is really correct or not I am not sure. The burger place slips my mind.

There was a place at 9th and North Avenue, north side, where Frank Rose and Roger Hall had lunch many times in Jr. High. Who recalls that place? A large hot dog with a coke and chips was 25 cents. It was near a bakery and a wholesale radio parts store.

My first car at GJHS

My first car to drive to HS was a 1930 Ford Model A coupe', no rumble seat. When I first got the car it was three-tone brown, fenders, body and top. I later painted it brown.

Memeory help?

For those of you who were Freshmen at the old HS on Gunnison, what was the name of the burger joint on 12th and Gunnison? I thought it was a big deal to walk there for lunch as a Freshman.

Also what was the name of the 3.2 beer place near the Vets Hospital?
It appears Joel Hiebert at least looked at this thing.

I am new at this so suggestions are always welcome.

Some of the folks I saw last night were: Ron Lease who now lives at least part time in GJ, Tom Coit, John Harris, Shirley Setter( for sake of my feeble brain I am going to use maiden names girls), Vern and Charlotte Zimmerman, Bob Strobl and Jackie Chiaro. There were 30 plus in attendance.

50th coming up

I attended the monthly get together in GJ last night of the 58 group. Had a wonderful time and saw several people I had not seen in some time.

Ruth Reed, who started 1st grade with me suggested we collect some informal memories of our school years. We had done this a few years ago on the occasion of our 50th from Redlands School and it was good fun.

That's the idea here, anything and everything about GJHS58.
